Western Walkabout Episodes 1 – 5

WHAT IT IS:

Over the coming months, Foreman and Wilms present a series of 8 episodes called “Western Walkabout”.  The duo and their trusty Landy take you from Western Australia’s midwest, the Coral Coast, through the Gascoyne and Pilbara, and then to the incredible Kimberley region.  You can expect a new episode every 4 – 6 weeks.  We hope you enjoy!

EPISODE 1: USELESS LOOP

Summer and Mr. Foreman take you to one of the more remote areas of Shark Bay, Steep Point and the Useless Loop road.  Highlights include saltwater fishing, a visit to the western-most point of mainland Australia, and some spectacular views around Thunder Bay.

EPISODE 2: THE GASCOYNE

The second installment of the series sees Foreman and Wilms basing themselves in Carnarvon. From there, they venture out to Mount Augustus and the Kennedy Range. The two encounter trouble just outside Gascoyne Junction, the worst bush fly plague in years, fascinating wildlife, and beautiful country.

EPISODE 3: NINGALOO

Episode 3 highlights diversity of the Coral Coast. We check out Coral Bay and the Ningaloo Reef, Exmouth, and Cape Range. Along the way, we see some impressive marine life, have an encounter with an echidna, and find ourselves in the middle of a cyclone!

EPISODE 4: THE PILBARA

This episode highlights the impressive landscape and hidden secrets of the Pilbara region. We head into Tom Price, venture into Karijini National Park to see its amazing gorges, and take the Rio Tinto train access road to Millstream-Chichester National Park.

EPISODE 5: The Pilbara Coast

We continue exploring the Pilbara region, this time on the coast. We see ancient rock art at Burrup Peninsula, visit the historical town of Cossack, and spend plenty of time out on the water fishing and exploring.
